Having worked as a Paralegal Translator and Final Reviewer at a leading city law firm, and for the Finance Director of a multinational corporation, I have the first-hand experience and specialist knowledge it takes to be able to anticipate your needs and surpass your expectations.

My background studying commercial law, business and economics in England, France and Spain, means I understand the nuances of each country's business culture and legal system. This enables me to communicate complex concepts clearly and accurately, finding the right tone and terminology, so that nothing gets lost in translation.

Where possible, I will leverage CAT and other technology to streamline my workflow, to guarantee you speed and value for money. I can also create glossaries and style guides or work with your existing term banks and house style guidelines. The translations I deliver are strictly my own work - I do not outsource projects or use machine translation unless specifically requested to do so by my clients.

 

If your translation is for publication or official purposes and you would like it to be reviewed by a second person, I will arrange for a suitably qualified colleague in my profressional network to proofread it.

I will respond as soon as I receive your message - usually within a couple of hours. I will ask you to:

  • share your brief - tell me which services you need (e.g. translation + review by a second linguist + certification) and when you need to receive the translation. If you are unsure what you need, we can discuss the project over the phone and I'll be happy to answer any questions.

  • share a copy of the text you need translating - if the document is highly confidential, we can protect it with an NDA, or if you prefer I can provide an initial, rough estimate based on a word count and sample/description of the document.

Quote and approval - I will carefully assess your text and send you a quote with a suggested timeline and several pricing options. If you're happy with the quote, just sign it and return it​, and the project will go ahead.

Translation - review - QA - Once the translation is underway, I will provide you with regular updates on the progress of your project. When it is complete, I will proofread it thoroughly, and then perform a number of quality assurance checks to verify the spelling, grammar, punctuation, formatting, completeness and accuracy. Optional proofreading by a second suitably qualified linguist is also available, and is always recommended for translations that will be published or need to be certified.
